Faith formation informs, forms, and transforms the person – whether child, youth, or adult – into a robust, vital, and life-giving Christian faith that is holistic: a way of the head, the heart, and the hands.
And faith formation does the very same for the Christian community as it immerses people into the particular practices and particular way of life that identifies them as followers of Jesus. Faith formation seeks to help people:
Faith formation is for all the Stages of life. It isn’t just for preparing for Sacraments. It is how we can grow as followers of Jesus, and its’ something that we all do at any age. Please join us in using this new terminology for our faith lives.
Faith Formation is more than preparing for Sacraments, or “graduating” from “Religious Education. Faith Formation programs can also be relevant for the different ages of our parishioners, reflects the realities of our current family dynamics, and helps all to learn to live as a fully-alive member of the Body of Christ
Faith Formation Commission Faith Formation is a lifelong process, and through religious education classes, we provide formal catechesis for children 4 years old through Confirmation (11th grade). Guidelines for this formation are developed under the guidance of the Archdiocese of Indianapolis. Through this formation, the parish works in partnership with parents to assist with the development of your children's Catholic faith, prayer life, sacraments, and tradition. FFC also collaborates with the Youth Ministry Commission, Young Adult Ministry Commission, and the various Adult Ministries of our parish in order to ensure that the whole person from womb to tomb is taught to love the Lord with all of their heart, soul, and mind (Matthew 22:37). It will begin meeting quarterly with Parish Catechetical Leader, Vicky Roosa. Specific activities of the FFC include:
1). Oversight of the Religious Education program (CCD), Parish Children’s ministry, and sacramental programming such Baptism Classes and the First Communion program. 2).
